Welcome to: In the Wild

We are a small, nurturing alternative provision born from lived experience, and a firm belief that education should be built around the child.

Our journey began as parents, educators, and advocates who saw too many children being let down. We’ve lived the battles—fighting for EHCPs, facing exclusions, watching incredible children lose confidence and connection. And we decided it was time for something different.

Our provision is built on connection, compassion, creativity and democracy. We prioritise emotional wellbeing, individuality, and a sense of belonging.

Many of the children we work with are neurodivergent, have experienced trauma, or simply need a more flexible and responsive learning environment.

Here, children are free to be themselves. We take the time to listen, to adapt, and to nurture curiosity rather than compliance. Whether it’s through outdoor learning, project-based exploration, or quiet space to self-regulate—we endeavour to offer an approach where every voice matters.

We're not just childcare.

We’re not just a place to learn.

We’re a place to be understood.

"Since Ruth started working with my daughter about a month ago, everything has changed. My daughter now looks forward to sessions each week with genuine excitement.

Ruth has a wonderful way of making learning feel safe and engaging. Not only is she helping my daughter build her skills, she's also supporting her in understanding herself better as an autistic young woman. Ruth celebrates her strengths, helps her navigate challenges, and encourages her to see her neurodivergence as a part of who she is- something to understand, not hide.

In my daughter's own words, "She is the best person ever!" I couldn't agree more.

The difference Ruth has made in such a short time is truly remarkable, and we're so grateful to have her on this journey with us."
