Meet the Team
Meet the faces that make "In The Wild" such a fabulous provision.
Hopefully you will get to know us even more as you attend.
Laura
Hi I'm Laura and I live and work at Musson Hall Farm.
We are a working farm and house a variety of domestic and farm animals.
I am impossibly optimistic, can always find a silver lining, love to laugh and endeavour to see the best in people. I have a passion for animals and the outdoors and like to spend as much time immersed in them as possible! My two gorgeous teenagers have been raised in this lifestyle which has subsequently fuelled my drive to help children connect with nature and animals; to discover new interests and skills and to become more informed about food and agriculture.
Having seen first hand through my own and others' children the valuable part animals and nature play in well being and self worth, I strive to open our farm gates to as many people as possible. I am proud of and enjoy sharing our wonderful surroundings to enable young people to explore, learn, or just 'be'!
Time away from the farm is spent with friends and family. I also volunteer for local youth groups (surprise surprise those that embrace the outdoors!) and teach adults and children with and without disabilities to horse ride.
Having had personal experience of the mainstream education system, I decided to combine my interests and began working in Alternative Provision. I believe that it is here I have truly found my vocation. I am wholly committed to new opportunities, passionate aboutsupporting children and their families in their quest to be seen, heard and understood and ultimately to making a difference.

Ruth
I'm a former primary school teacher turned private tutor (when not on the farm) and SEND advocate, driven by both professional experience and personal journey. After teaching and fighting for support for my son prior to home educating (and finding I was supporting more and more parents both on and off the school playground) my eyes were opened to the challenges many families face in getting the right support and sparked a deep commitment to help others thrive in what can feel like an isolating world.
As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand how overwhelming traditional learning environments can feel. That’s why I’m passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where every child is truly seen, heard, and valued. I believe in education that honours individual choice, nurtures curiosity, and allows young people to grow in their own time and way.

In my spare time, I can be found getting my hands dirty in the garden, spending time with my dogs and chickens, reading, exploring nature, or preparing for my next adventure like training for my Forest School qualification. I am all about learning and personal growth, sharing knowledge, and caring deeply about the children and families I work with.
I genuinely see every child I support as one of my own, and I’m here to walk alongside you on this journey.

Powered by people, purpose and plenty of coffee!
I'm a caring, creative, slightly chaotic (in a good way!) mum of three beautiful children with their own additional needs, which means I've lived the ups, downs and everything in between when it comes to navigating support systems and fighting for what's right. This journey has shaped who I am and fuels my passion for helping others feel seen, heard and included.

I've spent most of my life working with children, young people and families- on farms, in schools and out in the community. I love being a part of spaces where people can be themselves, build confidence and grow in their own time and way. I'm all about relationships, realness and making sure everyone feels they matter.
When I'm not running around after kids (mine or other people's), I love spending time making art, singing 90s throwbacks, or having a lovely time with my favourite people.
I'm big on empathy, low on judgement and happiest when I'm making a difference, even in a small way.
I'm here for the easy, magical, meaningful stuff and I wouldn't have it any other way.
